The screen of the handset consists of the two layers of special material, the upper flexible layer providing a protective function and the lower one forming different shapes. Thus, the screen can display glyph images, for example, a keypad with a tactile-feel effect - the capability, which the casual touchscreen users are lacking. In the light of the latest developments the concept doesn’t look fantastic. Thanks to the Korea-US joint development the scientists created the prototype of a flexible tactile display based on flexible electroactive polymer. Let’s note that such screen is a real boon for people with poor eyesight.
