Nokia released an OS update for the N800 and N810 internet tablets. The new version officially called OS2008 Feature Pack comes under the codename of Diablo. The update improves the stability and performance properties of the tablets and brings in a number of new features.

Here are some of the improvements:

  • SSU (seamless software updating) allows for updating OS components and doesn’t require the previous version to be uninstalled
  •     Over-the-air (OTA) allows for updating via Wi-Fi and WiMax connections
  •     The email client changed its user interface and acquired new features
  •     Chinese fonts were added to the system font list
  •     A good deal of OpenSSL bugs were fixed
  •     Browser bugs were fixed
  •     A-GPS support was added in the N810 and N810WE
  •     Wayfinder GPS application was updated

The most significant features from this list are SSU (seamless software updating) and Over-the-air (OTA). They make the process of upgrading software comfortable and keep the user data retained.
